Iberis sempervirens 'Little
Gem'
Candytuft (Zone 4)
This vigorous grower is a dwarf form of the common candytuft. It has evergreen
foliage and large clusters of clear white flowers. 'Little
Gem' will stand up in both part shade and full sun, reaching between 5-8" tall.
Perfect for the front of the garden or cascading over stone walls. Well drained
soils are a necessity; also remember to cut back heavily after flowering at
least every two years to reduce fruit set and maintain quality foliage.
...............Available in 1-Quart container only.
Iberis sempervirens 'Purity'
Candytuft (Zone 3)
‘Purity’ is a compact selection growing to only 8-10". White fragrant flowers
bloom in spring atop glossy foliage. It’s shorter height will mean less
floppiness when blooming and ultimately less maintenance! Plants require full
sun and well-drained soils, especially during winter. Shearing the spent flowers
will help to invigorate the clump. Looks good growing along a wall or the front
of the mixed perennial bed where its flowers and fragrance can be most enjoyed.
..............Available in IMPACT container only.
Iberis
sempervirens Snow ConeTM
Candytuft (Zone 3)

Iberis sempervirens ‘Snowflake’
Candytuft (Zone
3)
This cultivar is an improved selection of the straight species having a more compact,
8-10", less sprawling
habit. ‘Snowflake' blooms in Early season with many clusters of large white flowers. The fragrant flowers last for at least
several weeks. The tough, dark evergreen foliage is an attractive selling point. The flowers are shown off nicely against this
dark foliage . Plants require full sun to part-shade, well-drained soil, and are heat and drought tolerant. This selection would
be great in rock gardens, wall plantings, and troughs.
...............Available in 1-Quart
and IMPACT containers.

Knautia (Zone 5)
This cultivar is a shorter, more
compact variety than the straight species of Knautia. It still has the same deep
ruby-red scabiosa like flowers on tall wiry stems. It blooms mid summer into
fall and prefers full sun and good drainage. Grows 12-14" tall. It is a friendly
variety that will probably self seed and visit elsewhere in your garden.
...............Available in 1-Quart only.
Kniphofia 'Border Ballet'
Kniphofia ‘Pfitzer’s Hybrid’
Red
Hot Poker (Zone 5)
This cultivar has a mix of flowers in orange, red, and yellow. The blooms are borne on a
spike-like inflorescence that stands up well in the garden. The flower spike will usually have several flower colors on the flower
stems at the same time – one color opening at the top of the stem while a second color is evident at the bottom. The foliage is

Yellow
Archangel (Zone 4)
This perennial is a compact, upright clump forming selection of the spreading groundcover
Lamiastrum galeobdolon. It has beautiful silvery-green variegated foliage with ¾" yellow flowers. The flowers are nice, but the
plants in this Genus are primarily grown for their beautifully mottled foliage. It blooms in Early season atop 12" mounded plants.
This cultivar is very easy to grow requiring a part-shade to shaded area and average to dry soil. This cultivar and its parent
plant both make vigorous groundcovers in dry shade.
...............Available in 1-Quart only.
Lamiastrum galeobdolon ‘Silver Spangles’
Lamiastrum galeobdolon ‘Variegatum’
Yellow
Archangel (Zone 4)
This perennial species is a
low growing groundcover that spreads by underground stolons. It has ¾" yellow flowers in Early season and beautiful silvery-green variegated foliage. It will form a nice dense
massing in part-shade to shade. It is very easy to grow and does well in dry shade, which is usually a difficult area for
perennials to thrive. It grows to 6" tall and responds well to heavy pruning if the plants become too scraggly. This makes a very
utilitarian ground cover in part-shade and is a very tough grower.

Spotted
Dead Nettle (Zone
3)
This foliage on this striking cultivar is sure to brighten any garden! The

orchid flowers bloom in spring and rebloom in fall on this fairly new introduction. The foliage is silver with blue-green edges

therefore making it a very versatile ground cover.

Lamium maculatum ‘Pink Pewter’
Spotted
Dead Nettle (Zone 3)
What a fantastic cultivar! The clear-pink flowers and common silvery-green variegated foliage make this plant an
instant eye-catcher. It seems to be a bit more resilient in term of maintaining clean unspotted foliage. This is probably one of
the best varieties on the market today. It requires a part-shaded area with average to moist soil. The plants bloom in Early to
Mid-season, and sporadically through the summer. If Lamiums get too scraggly and overgrown they respond well to heavy pruning and
rejuvenate themselves readily. This cultivar grows to 10".
...............Available in 1-Quart only.
Lamium maculatum ‘Purple Dragon’ (PP15890)
Lamium maculatum
'Red Nancy'
Spotted Dead Nettle (Zone 3)

Lamium maculatum ‘White Nancy’
Spotted
Dead Nettle (Zone 3)
‘White Nancy' grows 6-8", and as the name implies, bears white flowers over the typical
silvery-green variegated foliage. It requires a moist to average garden soil in part-shade. An excellent, tough groundcover
capable of filling in open spaces in the garden. If it gets too open or leggy, it can be easily be pruned back quite hard to
rejuvenate new clean basal foliage. Although the flowers are a bonus, Lamiums are primarily grown for their bright silvery
foliage. This blooms in Early to Mid-season with some sporadic bloom through summer.
...............Available in Groundcover and 1-Quart
containers.

color to ‘Munstead’) appearing freely throughout the summer months. ‘Blue

excellent winter drainage to overwinter successfully.

Lavandula angustifolia ‘Hidcote’
Lavender (Zone
5-6)
Lavenders are wonderful, classical English Garden plants. They have been grown throughout the
years for their nicely scented sweet foliage. The foliage is used for many purposes, although mainly for fragrant oil production.
Herb growers also make perfumes and potpourri from this plant. The evergreen, fragrant foliage is grayish-green in color and
boasts dark purple flowers in Mid-season. ‘Hidcote' grows to 12" and has darker purple flowers than some of the other Lavender
cultivars. In general, lavenders require a full sun site and excellent drainage in order to overwinter successfully.
...............Available in 3" Herb, 1-Quart and IMPACT containers.
Lavandula angustifolia ‘Munstead’
Lavender (Zone
5-6)
‘Munstead' grows 12-18", roughly 6" taller than ‘Hidcote' and has lighter purple flowers that
appear in Mid-season. Like other lavenders, this cultivar is used for oils, fragrances, and perfumes. Lavenders are good for the
front of borders, massing, and as herbaceous shrubs in knot gardens and hedges. They seem to be relatively disease and pest free,
except that they require excellent drainage. It is imperative to improve the drainage in a planting area to insure successful
overwintering of these plants.
...............Available in 3" Herb, 1-Quart and IMPACT containers.
Lavandula
‘Dilly Dilly'
Lavender (Zone 5)
‘Dilly Dilly’ is a great lavender having both attractive foliage and flowers.

especially in winter. Flowers are touted as being extremely fragrant and great
for cutting. With its' large fragrant flowers and clean foliage, this looks like
a real winner!
..............Available in IMPACT container only.
Lavandula x intermedia
‘Provence’
Lavender (Zone
5-6)
A hybrid cross of common and spike
lavenders that has produced what we think (and desperately hope) is a lavender suitable for Ohio winters. Some references list
this as a Zone 6 plant (winter hardiness) but we have had great success with this hybrid in our Zone 5(b) garden. ‘Provence' is
taller and more upright than common lavender, growing to 24" tall. The long flower spikes are borne in Mid-season and are a
lighter shade of blue than the common lavender cultivars, but are still very showy in the garden. The foliage is silver-gray and
very fragrant because of the high oil content of this hybrid. Its growth habit makes this an excellent choice for edging and
formal hedges in the knot garden. We will update you on the continued survivability of this choice lavender!
...............Available in 3" Herb, 1-Quart and IMPACT
containers.

...............Available in IMPACT container only.
Leucanthemum 'Becky’
Shasta
Daisy (Zone 4)
‘Becky' is undoubtedly one of the best Shasta daisies currently in the trade. This selection is older
than many of the other varieties available, but well worth trying if you haven’t already! This 36" cultivar bears large, single,
sturdy blooms that hold themselves up well even in storms. ‘Becky' is a strong performer in the landscape appearing to be less
prone to floppiness than other selections. This cultivar bloomed sporadically from summer into fall in our display garden, with
repeated deadheading. The clean, tough foliage makes it an attractive addition to the garden. Like most other Shasta daisies it
appreciates full sun and rich, well-drained soil for optimal growth. 2003
Perennial Plant Association Plant of the Year.

Leucanthemum ‘Crazy Daisy’
Leucanthemum 'Marconi’
Shasta
Daisy (Zone 4)

grow 24-36" in a rich, well-drained soil and a sunny site. If you want a variety with double flowers that has performed well in

make excellent cut flowers.

Leucanthemum Polaris®
Shasta Daisy (Zone 3)
The best daisy for cutting, this
cultivar boasts crisp white flowers that sometimes reach 7" in diameter. Plants
themselves grow up to 48" tall with strong, robust foliage. This makes a great
back or middle of the border plant. As with the others, these plants prefer
sunny sites and prefer little maintenance except for deadheading which will
promote more flowers through the summer.
...............Available in 1-Quart
and IMPACT containers.
Leucanthemum ‘Snowcap’
Shasta Daisy (Zone 4)
This cultivar is the result of great horticultural breeding by the most noted
plantsman, Alan
Bloom of England. ‘Snowcap' is probably the best
dwarf
selection available on the
market. Its low growing
10" habit makes it more resistant to weather extremes than its taller brethren. ‘Snowcap' bears long-lasting, single, white blooms
borne over a short bushy mound of dark green foliage. Like ‘Becky’, ‘Snowcap' is one of the absolute best daisy varieties
available to the consumer. With periodic deadheading this variety will easily bloom on and off throughout summer into fall. Like
all other daisies, ‘Snowcap' appreciates full sun, and a rich, well-drained soil. Try ‘Snowcap' if you need an awesome dwarf
selection for your garden. A

rebloom and keep plants vigorous.
